The anatomy of our trees
There are a few things you should know about our trees. All of them are vintage trees made in Czechoslovakia (former Czech Republic) during the 2nd half of 20th century. Very hard to guess for a specific decade, because the designs were more or less similar.
All of the trees are handmade and never been in a mass production. Even if you find similar items, there are always slight differences in colors or in product processing. It always depended on what rhinestone the maker took in hand, because those trees were private production of workers in the costume jewelry industry, which has long tradition in our country since the 19th century. Those people took the raw material from the factory (mostly unofficially) and made the trees for themselves, their families and also for other people to display the trees during the Christmas time.
All of the trees are made in combination of genuine Czech crystal glass and basic metals like copper, tin or nickel. The metal construction is soldered, as you can see on the backside.
The reason why our trees are so charming, shiny and sparkling is because each facet of the Czech crystal rhinestone was manually cutted by a gem cutter. No pressed glass in a form. No plastic. No fake materials.
